Dee Koala The Future

I first heard of Dee Koala when I heard the Utatakho Remix and at first I really didn't pay attention to her verse (most people myself included was talking about Boity's) then I started to listen to the song more throughly and I started to enjoy her verse more,it was catchy and she played with words in a great way. 


So one day I was just chilling around campus and I decided to listen her music and check out her videos. I first saw a video for a song called "Ndintswempu" which featured Amilca Mezariti and SimulationRxps the video was fire but the one that really did it for me was the Friday Freestyle now that one was on another level,she really delivered, both the song and video were amazing.

I recently listened to her 14 track debut album 4 the Khaltsha  and I really enjoyed that project, to say it was good is an understatement that album was flawless. The songs were catchy AF you can't help but want to dance and sing along to them even though I didn't understand some of them because she rapped in isXhosa.


 My favorite songs are "Thando" featuring Chosi the song was about love as you can tell from the name, the song talks about a girl who was left by her father,she feels like God abandoned hershe then dates older men and hangs out with friends who don't have her best interests at heart. Towards the end of the song, Dee Koala says the world is tough and if you feel like you can't cope just get on your knees and pray God is always there. The others that I enjoyed were "Ndanele"  which was about her experience with love and also the title track "4 The Khaltsha"  featuring Lookatup,  "Ungenaphi" were Dee Koala showed she can really rap and hang with the best rappers in the country.

Dee Koala is going to be big one day and that's straight facts, she has all the makings to be an amazing artist and she's definitely gonna do big things not only in South Africa but the world probably. She is the future, Dee is only 21 and her skills are already on another level so you can definitely bet the only way is up for her. If you haven't listened to her music yet, do yourself a favor and start now.

Emtee's second studio album Manado was really a great project,filled with smash hits. Had that album been marketed right it could have done amazing numbers just like his debut album Avery. He is one of the most gifted we have in South Africa, and his music speaks for itself. Rouge- Queen of the New Era

I started listening to Rouge after I heard her verse on the Baddest Remix by AKA, she had one if not the best verse on the song. Everything about her verse was exceptional,the way she switched flows,languages and what she said in that verse was something special. I didn't listen to her for a while after that but when she dropped her debut album "New Era Sessions" in 2017 I was hooked again. She really showed her versatility on that album,her bars were totally amazing,every song captures your attention and makes you take note of her lyrical content. The storytelling on songs like "Celebrity" and "Sheba Ngwan'o" just to name a few are great and she paints a very vivid and great picture with her words. The Weeknd The Greatest Artist Of Our Time.

After Hours was where my journey began with the artist know as The Weeknd, from the very first moment I heard that album I instantly became a big fan, I mean sure I had heard of him before but there was something about the After Hours album that made me see him in a different light.
